Alexander Ruthner

Initially influenced by street art, Alexander Ruthner became a leader of his generation of the young wild Austrian artists. Particularly his grass paintings made him quite famous in early years. But it wouldn't be Alex if he – blinded by his own success – would simply repeat himself. The sociable artist, whose work always resonates with a great deal of personal momentum, can often be found elsewhere as an "artist in residence" exploring new environments and painting styles.
We find: The complexity of his work wonderfully reflects the dynamic of his eventful and moving life.
